Wrist Fixators

Description

Wrist Fixator (PENEF Type)

PENEF – Pennig-Type External Fixator is a classic monolateral fixator used for applying the ligamentotaxis procedure in distal radius fractures. It features a two-level adjustable ball-and-socket joint at the wrist level and a distraction module on the distal clamp.

Hybrid Module

This is an additional joint module designed to be used in combination with the PENEF and DEWEF systems. Although optional, it is considered essential:

  • for achieving anatomical reduction, and

  • to allow early wrist mobilization by releasing the wrist joint approximately three weeks after fixation.

Using both the PENEF system and the Hybrid Module together is strongly recommended for optimal clinical outcomes.
